Pyrates’ Confraternity donates equipment to Kaduna police, FRSC

The Kaduna State Chapter of the National Association of Seadogs, popularly called Pyrates’ Confraternity has donated some security and traffic control equipment to the police and the Federal Road Safety Commission in the state.
The state chapter of the association has also thrown its weight behind the state’s Sector Command of the FRSC by installing four road traffic signs at various locations within the state capital.
The Pyrates’ Confraternity also donated printed flyers with the slogan “These ‘Ember’ Months, Drive to Drive In 2017” in support of the FRSC safety campaign in the state to the sector command.
Speaking while donating some of the equipment, including high visibility jackets, power flashlights to the Divisional Police Officer in Barnawa, Kaduna, on Thursday, the state Chairman of the association, Mr. Kunle Ogunbo, said that the Pyrates’ Confraternity identified such a support to the police as a necessary civic duty, which all Nigerians must inculcate and imbibe.
Ogunbo, who was in company with the other members of the association, said that this had become imperative, especially as the police was the body legally charged with maintaining law and order in the society.
He said that it was because of the need to assist the police in carrying out its duty that the members of the confraternity in Kaduna decided to raise funds amongst themselves to procure the equipment donated to the police in the state.
He added that the members of the association in the state intended to make such a donation to the police and other security agencies a “continuous affair.”
He said, “It was in this vein that members of the Kaduna Chapter of the National Association of Seadogs, also known as the Pyrates Confraternity, embarked on raising funds amongst themselves inspite of the current challenging economic environment, to support the work of these establishments and intended to make it a continuous affair.
“In line with her humanitarian and charitable objectives, the Kaduna Chapter of the National Association of Seadogs launched a series of initiatives aimed at complementing efforts towards the attainment of a better society within Kaduna State by initiating working partnerships with identified relevant establishments.”
Responding, Barnawa DPO, CSP Mohammed Danladi, thanked the members of the Pyrates’ Confraternity in the state for their gesture.
Danladi said that the police looked forward to working very closely with the members of the confraternity in the state.
