The good side of BBN?

As big and accepted as Big Brother Naija is in some quarters, it also has a lot of opposition in so many quarters. Those opposing it just don’t see any good in it as they see it as immoral and a bad influence on the teens and youths.
When in a discussion on the show, their basic reasoning about it is: “What sense is in it?”
Well, the current edition, which is tagged Double Wahala, might have answered that question of what sense there is in BBN, as one of its housemates, Vandora, has disclosed that she was repeatedly raped by her ex-boyfriend.
She made the shocking disclosure while she and other contestants, Dee One, K Brule, Bam Bam, Teddy A and Rico Swavey were discussing about rape and other forms of sexual violence.
But whether it’s a bogus claim for her to get sympathy votes from viewers or not, it, and the discussion that led to it, have brought the issue of sexual harassment and violence against ladies to the fore once again, and even made it a trending topic that government should just do something about once and for all. Of course, BBN deserves some form of commendation for bringing the ugly subject to the front burner.
