Mosaku Samuel Oladimeji, better known as Soplain, is making a case for himself in the music industry through his production.
The music producer, who has been making music for eight years, said his journey had been a mixture of good and bad times.
He said, “If you work with the right people, you will surely get your break. At some point, I worked with the right people but I did not support them in promoting their music. I am now part of the promotion of my artistes. I try to influence the success of my artistes in my own way.
Soplain has done voiceovers for the likes of MTN and Etisalat. And he has worked with Davido, Burna Boy, Olawale of Project Fame and DJ E-Money, who is Olamide’s brother.
But according to Soplain, up-andcoming artistes appreciate producers better than the celebrated ones.
“Since they have the desire to become successful, they appreciate producers. But the top musicians hardly appreciate and think they are doing one a favour. The best thing is to grow with your artiste as a producer and hope the person will not forsake you when fame comes.
For him, music is all he knows how to do. He started from the church and he knows how to play instruments too.
