UNIOSUN student’s murder: Irate colleagues raze suspected cleric’s house

Some angry students of the Osun State University in Osogbo, on Tuesday, stormed the residence of a Muslim cleric, simply known as Alfa, and burnt it down for allegedly killing a 400 level student of the university, Oluwafemi Shonibare.
At about 5:30 pm on Tuesday, the students who trooped out in large numbers while armed with clubs, petrol and matches, sang angrily to the house located within the campus community at Suzzy area at Oke Baale in Osogbo, where they vandalised the bungalow building before setting it ablaze.
They carried out the torching about two hours after policemen left the area with the suspect.
The Alfa was said to have led a team of policemen to a bush near the his house, where he had allegedly dumped Shonibare’s decomposing corpse.
The raging students had earlier stormed filing stations in the area to demand for fuel that they used in setting the mansion ablaze.
Shonibare studied Microbiology before his disappearance and horrible death.
As at the time of filling this report, the house was still on fire.
Meanwhile, the police have evacuated Shonibare’s decaying remains to an undisclosed mortuary.
