Why we’ll continue to invest in Chemistry – Firm

The management of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc has said that it will continue to encourage secondary school students to explore the career opportunities that abound in Chemistry as a subject of study.
The company said this just as the winners of the 2016/2017 edition of the PZ Cussons Chemistry Challenge applauded the firm’s commitment towards reviving interest in the study of Chemistry in schools across the country.
Receiving the winners, the Chief Executive Officer, PZ Cussons Plc, Mr. Christos Giannopoulos, who congratulated both the students and the representatives of their schools for their exceptional performance, disclosed that the Chemistry challenge was borne out of the company’s commitment to promoting the importance of the subject in everyday life.
Giannopoulos explained that PZ Cussons designed the competition to help spur interest in Chemistry as a subject and develop a credible succession pipeline for the industry by encouraging secondary school students to take advantage of the career opportunities in the study of Chemistry as a science subject in school.
He admonished the winners to be focused in life so as not to be carried away by distractions and peer pressure.
After successfully hosting the 2016/2017 edition of Nigeria’s leading pure science competition, the winners were taken on a tour of the corporate head office and factory of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc for a better understanding of the operational flow employed by the company in its manufacturing process.
The visit was facilitated by two of PZ Cussons top brands – Premier Cool and Nunu Milk – to appreciate the organisation for building a glowing future for Nigerian students, and to set the stage for its next edition.
Also speaking on the occasion, the Regional Marketing Director, Kalyan Bandyopadhyay, advised parents and teachers to plant the seed of greatness in the minds of pupils to ensure a brighter future for the country in the social, economic and political spheres.
Responding on behalf of the winners, the overall champion, Master Ogunmola Dara, an SS II Student of New Hall International School, Lekki, Lagos, applauded the company for the initiative and appealed that the competition be expanded in the next edition.
