Your creativity is best exhibited when you have little resources, says style consultant, Mo’cheddah

As far as fashion is concerned, Modupe-Oreoluwa Oyeyemi Ola, popularly known as Mo’cheddah, feels people are most creative when they are short of resources because that is when they tend to think outside the box.
“I love fashion a lot and I grew up fashionable, but while growing up, I realised that it was when I didn’t have enough clothes that I came out looking really good,” Mo’cheddah, a multiple award winning musician, says.
Mo’cheddah, who took the Nigerian music scene by storm at a very young age, says her style is chic and classy. This, she adds, gives her confidence anytime she steps out.
“As a style consultant, I always strive to look good and classy, because it boosts my confidence. You are what you wear,” she says.

The University of Lagos graduate is a rapper and singer, who released her debut studio album, Franchise Celebrity, in 2010 while signed to Knighthouse Entertainment. The album was preceded by the 2009 promotional single, If You Want Me. She parted ways with Knighthouse in February 2012 and established her own label, Cheddah Music.
Mo’Cheddah reveals that she started to explore her creative talent at the age of 12. She was initially interested in acting, but later crossed over to singing.
“Aside from music, I am into fashion. I am a stylist, consultant and a brand influencer,” she says.
She says her love for fashion made her open her own clothing line, Mochedda.co, which is into makeup, music and blogging. Mo’cheddah, who, for some time, took a break from the music scene, recently came back with a song entitled, “Survive,” which dwells on how she survived after taking a long break from music.
The Osun State native has done well for herself both in music and fashion, especially music. She was the winner of the HipHop World Revelation of the Year 2014 Eloy Awards for Female Musician of the Year and also won the 2010 MTV Africa Music Awards for Best New Artist of the Year.
