Your style speaks volume about your personality, says international model, Isio Wanogo De-Lavega

As far as Isio Wanogo De-Lavega is concerned, fashion is an art, a means of expressing one’s creativity.
“I am a fashion lover, being a top international model, but I see it as a way of telling the world who you are and your style,“ the popular media personality, model and interior designer says.
De-Lavega, who began modelling since the age of 18, says so long as she’s comfortable in what she wears, she can wear any piece of clothing, be it western or local attires. But one thing she won’t be caught wearing is brown fish nets because of the way it looks on people.
“ The fact is that I love being fashionable and going with the different trends, but one fashion item I cannot be caught wearing is brown fishnets, because of the way it looks on people which I’m not comfortable with,“ she says.
The cerebral international model obtained a Master’s degree in Europe; attended a design school in Italy to study Interior architecture. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in creative arts, majoring in painting and sculpture. She has four additional diplomas and studied Italian as well as some computer programming courses and fashion design.

Aside from modelling, isio reveals that she is also into charity and is a Youth Ambassador for Global Unity, Peace & Development.
Regarding her daily fashion routine, the 35-year-old reveals that she exercises to keep fit and stay in shape, stressing, “I do a lot of pilates very frequently.”
When Isio is not at work, she prefers to stay at home to unwind.
”Instead of going out to clubs or outings, when I am less busy, I would rather cook and make very good Edika Ikong soup or prepare coconut rice and chicken. And if I am to go out, I would rather go to a salsa club,” she says.
Isio is the owner and founder of her own design company, Isio DelaVega Design Studios, and her favourite Nigerian designers are Frank Osodi, Mai Atafo, Deola Sagoe, Tiffany Amber, Da Vida and lately, Folake of House of Maflax. She was recently announced as the face for Diesel Nigeria.
There’s no doubt that Isio has done very well for herself in her various careers, having won several awards, including the 2014 Model of the year Lagos Fashion Awards, 2013 Youth ambassador Global Foundation for Peace, Unity, Development award, 2012 Celebrity Ambassador Lagos Anti-Rape Campaign award, 2010 Nigerian Model Achievers Award and Best TV presenter award, amongst others.
