2023: Emir drums support for Anyim’s presidential bid

Emir of Lafia Bare Bari and Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, Sidi Bage Muhammad, has assured former Secretary to the Federal Government, Anyim Pius Anyim, of his support in his presidential bid.

Anyim was given the assurance during his consultative visit to the Emir recently on his 2023 ambition.

On the occasion, the former SGF revealed his plans to reposition Nigeria if given the chance to become President.

Briefing journalists shortly after his consultations with the Emir who was a Justice of the Supreme Court, Anyim, who was given a royal reception alongside his delegations, asked for the support of the monarch, assuring him that Nigeria would be in good stead under his administration if voted in as president.

The former Senate President pledged massive employment generation for youths, and the country’s repositioning if given the opportunity.

Anyim said, “We need to reposition this country to catch up with the future so that we can preserve the future for our children. That is what I stand for; that is what I want to bring to the table and that’s why I have come.

“We are in a new season, a season that will set out a new future for the younger generation, a season that will refocus Nigeria, a season that will reunite Nigeria, a season we must not make mistakes about, a season we must bring everybody together to have a sense of nationhood. We have no other country than this country.”

Muhammad said, “I want to assure you that I will not be part of the people that will discuss issues that will not matter. We shall educate our people. I wish you well in your endeavours.”
