2023: We won’t allow anyone to intimidate Nigerians with money – Buhari

BY FOLASHADE KEHINDE

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has said that he will not allow anyone to intimidate Nigerians with personal resources or influence during the 2023 elections.

He stressed that material, moral or physical intimidation would be resisted,  noting that this was the only type of leadership that could consolidate the nation.

The President also noted that Nigerians would appreciate the All Progressives Congress administration in six months for being sincere.

He made these points on Tuesday when he received members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, led by the Chairman and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, at the State House, in Abuja.

“We will not allow anyone to use personal resources or their influence to intimidate other Nigerians. We will not allow intimidation materially, morally or physically. This is the kind of leadership that can emerge and consolidate our nation.

“In six months, Nigerians will appreciate the government of APC, that we are sincere and we respect them.’’

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari said non-interference in elections gives credence to the political process and ensures participation and inclusiveness.

“I want Nigerians to know that we respect them, and for us to show that we will allow them to vote who they want. We all witnessed what happened in Anambra, Ekiti and Osun states. What happened in those states gives me a lot of hope that we are succeeding,” he said.
