A group, North Central Coalition For Leadership, on Thursday, indicated its willingness to purchase the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress for Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State against the 2023 Presidential election.
The National Coordinator of the pro-youth group, Williams Charles, disclosed this to journalists on Thursday, stressing that members of his group resolved to buy the form for the Governor, if he declared his intention, because they were committed to seeing Yahaya Bello become the next President.
The resources to purchase the forms would be sourced through “crowdfunding”, on the group’s website, Williams said.
The group claimed that the North Central had been marginalised for long in Nigeria’s Democratic history.
Williams said, “We members of NCCL, our resolve, since our formation, is primarily to ensure that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, a youth from North Central, seeks for the Office of the President and emerges victorious.
“Our reason for embarking on this project is based on the gross marginalisation of North Central in the Democratic leadership of this great country and the relegation of youth to the background of leadership at the presidential level.
“At a time we seem more divided than united, What Nigeria needs at the moment are security and unification. Governor Yahaya Bello has continued to prove that he has all it takes to deliver security and unify Nigeria.”
“It is for this reason that we have decided to pull resources together using crowdfunding, via our online website, to purchase the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form for Gov. Yahaya Bello when he presents himself to our party members; to be chosen as the candidate for the 2023 presidential election,” he added.
