The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, has been impeached.
Orji was reportedly impeached at about 9am on Tuesday.
About 18 of the 24-member House signed for the Speaker’s impeachment, while four abstained.
They include Ginger Onwusibe, Munachim Alozie, Solomon Akpulonu, and Kelechi Onuzuruike.
Although details of the Speaker’s impeachment were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, it was gathered that Orji’s removal followed a motion moved by Chukwudi Apugo (Umuahia East), and seconded by Okey Igwe (PDP, Umunneochi).
