Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has notified the State House of Assembly of his intention to present the 2023 Budget Proposal on Thursday, November 17, 2022.
This was contained in the Governor’s correspondence to the Assembly as read by the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo during Tuesday’s plenary at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The letter reads: “I thank Mr. Speaker and the Honourable Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly for the co-operation we have continued to enjoy from the hallowed Chamber. Your legislative support has indeed been pivotal to the success story of our building the State together.
“In accordance with the provision of Section 121 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I write to inform the Honourable House that I intend to present the Ogun State Year 2023 Budget proposal to the State House of Assembly on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10.00am.”
In another development, three bills namely: Ogun State Rural Access Road Agency Law, 2022, Ogun State Road Fund (SRF) and the Ogun State Roads Fund Board and Administration (OGSRFBA) Law, 2022, as well as the Establishment and Management of Ogun State Youth Trust Fund Law, 2022 scaled through first reading at the plenary.
The long titles of the bills were read before the lawmakers by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Deji Adeyemo.
Also, a member representing Ijebu-East State Constituency, Olusola Adams presented a petition titled: Petition against unlawful installation of H.R.H Muideen Hassan as the Elesugbon of Esugbon and Surreptitiously Gazetting the Ruling House at Esugbon Community in the Ijebu-East Local Government Area of Ogun State”, on behalf of Esugbon Community for the consideration of the Assembly.
