The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the March 18 election Olajide Adediran (aka Jandor), has requested the transfer of his appeal against the ruling of the election petition tribunal to Abuja.

In a letter dated October 23 and addressed to the president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongbam-Mensem, Adediran said the transfer would ensure fairness and objectivity devoid of potential meddling.

The notice was received on the same day at the office of the president of the appellate court.

Justice Dongban-Mensem, as part of efforts to eradicate political interference in the courts, had transferred all election petition cases pending before the court in the 36 states to Abuja and Lagos.
