Adeleke University appoints principal officers

The Governing Council of the Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, under the Chairmanship of Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, has appointed Principal Officers to steer the ship of the private university with effect from August 1, 2016.
The Principal Officers are to be led by Professor Samuel Ekundayo Alao as President/Vice Chancellor.
Professor Alao, is a graduate of several universities, including Andrews University, Berrien Springs Michigan and the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, USA, where he bagged a Bachelor, Master, Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Mass Communication and Media Studies, International Relations and Leadership.
Until his appointment, Professor Alao was the Provost, College of Social Sciences, Babcock University. He had served as the Deputy-Vice Chancellor, Babcock University; Chief Executive Officer, Centre for Executive Development, Babcock Consulting Limited, Dean and Head of Department Mass Communication, Chairman of various University Committees and is a former Chairman/CEO, Daily Times of Nigeria.
Professor Alao, a seasoned academic and administrator with passion for research and entrepreneurship development, has won several awards, including Professor Emeritus from USA.
He has several academic publications in reputable journals and is a Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Management; Fellow, Nigerian Guild of Editors and Fellow of the Institute of Fraud Examiners, among several others. He is a devoted Christian and married with children.
Others appointed by the university are Prof. Solomon Ajayi Adebola, the Senior Vice President/Deputy Vice Chancellor, whose academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons), Mathematics in 1975 from the University of Ibadan, a Diploma in Management, an MBA, an MSc (Banking & Finance), and a PhD in Management Sciences from University of Ilorin.
His professional qualifications include Member Nigerian Institute of Management, Fellow Certified Marketing Communications Institute, Honorary Senior Member Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Fellow of the Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and Fellow of the Institute of Fraud Examiners. He rose to the peak position of Chief Lecturer in 1992 in Kano State Polytechnic and later worked as Managing Director of two mortgage banks at different times.
Since moving back to full academics in the university system, he has taught in both University of Ilorin and Babcock University, among others, and served at different times as Head of Department and as Dean of Faculty. He was, until his appointment, the Dean of Babcock Business School and Director of Babcock Centre for Executive Development.
