Adeleke’s appointee remanded in prison over alleged murder, kidnapping

A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo on Thursday, ordered the remand of an appointee of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Oyeyemi Olalekan, popularly called Emir Ajagungbade at the Ile-Ife Correctional Centre.

Emir Ajagungbade is facing charges bordering on murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.

He was appointed by Governor Adeleke as a member of the state’s Transport Disciplinary Committee in January 2023.

He is to be re-arraigned on March 5 for the continuation of his case.

The defendant was arrested by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Osun State Police command in September 2023.

Following his arrest, he was swiftly transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The Command had issued a wanted notice for the accused person on July 2, 2022, on charges of murder, cultism, and armed robbery.
