After lingering battle with Uvwie monarch, Council Vice Chair, Ighedo, slumps, dies

THE Vice-Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council in Delta State, Olorogun Daniel Ighedo, is dead.

Ighedo, a native of Ekpan town in Uvwie, died on Tuesday after a lingering face-off with the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Abe 1.

He was said to have slumped and pronounced dead at the hospital he was rushed to for treatment.

Ighedo was allegedly ostracised by the Uvwie monarch over a crisis sur­rounding the appointment of Community Liaison Of­ficer to a company in the area.

He had petitioned the Nigeria Police Force, demanding the arrest and interrogation of the Uvwie monarch.
