For the umpteenth time, Nigeria’s national grid on Wednesday, again collapsed.
The collapse on Wednesday was confirmed by Eko Electricity Distribution Company via a tweet on its verified handle @EKEDP to its customers that the grid collapsed at about 11:27 am.
The message reads, “Dear Customers, we regret to inform you of a system collapse on the National grid at precisely 11:27 am today, Wednesday, July 20. We are in talks with the Transmission Company of Nigeria to ascertain the cause of the collapse and a possible restoration timeline.
“We will keep you updated on the situation” the Disco company announced.
EKEDC had earlier announced on Tuesday via the same channel of a planned power out that was to occur on Wednesday between 10 am and 5 pm to allow for maintenance on its 330KV line Bay.
The company tweeted on Tuesday reads, “Dear esteemed customers, a planned outage has been scheduled by our TCN partners for Wednesday, July 20th 2022, between 10 am and 5 pm. This is to carry out an annual preventive maintenance on Lekki/Aja 330KV Line Bay and TRI-300MVA 330/132/33KV Transformer at the Lekki Transmission.”
