Felix Agu has been given permission to play for the Super Eagles, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Agu, who plays for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, was included in Nigeria’s team this week by head coach Eric Chelle for the Unity Cup invitational event.

At first, it was anticipated that the 24-year-old, who has twice represented Germany at the U-20 level, would train with the Super Eagles.

After receiving clearance, the full-back will now attempt to make his tournament debut in London.

“Felix Nnaemeka Agu confirmed ok to play for Nigeria’s @NGSuperEagles” the NFF announced on their official X account.

“The German FF have written to confirm that the player has never represented them at any official game at the A and Junior level.

“Played only 2 friendly games for the U21 team in 2019. Welcome Felix!

On Tuesday, the Super Eagles will play their first match at the Unity Cup against their long-time rivals, Ghana.

The Brentford Community Stadium in Brentford will host the match.
