Aiyedatiwa’s school-leaving certificate authentic, says campaign organisation

Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers on Monday took a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Olugbenga Edema, to the cleaners, describing him as “a clueless roadside critic, who is always not having facts to back up his claims.”

Edema had in a statement over the weekend queried the authenticity of the secondary school-leaving certificate of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is also vying for the governorship ticket of the party.

Responding, the LACO-FS in a statement by its State Director of Information, Kayode Fasua, said photocopies of the school-leaving and other certificates obtained by the governor were duly submitted to the
Independent National Electoral Commission.

“Not even a drunk of the Ogogoro-dringing pedigree will stand the truth on the head and claim that Mr. Governor did not obtain the West African School Certificate (WASC) of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), as Edema has woozily done.

“So how was Aiyedatiwa able to scale through the rigorous screening of the higher school and also of the University he attended?

“Usually, the institutions have an unbroken tradition of cross-checking with WAEC in the aftermath of every screening exercise, as per the authenticity of the Council’s certificates presented for admission, thus wondering where Edema got his poorly concocted lie.

“Rather than act like other contestants by campaigning around the state ahead of the coming APC primary elections in Ondo State, Edema is instead on a fault-finding excursion, giddily gourded by the vaulting ambition of trying to reap where he did not sow.

“Naturally, someone who abandons his party activities only to be visible during election period is no better than a clueless roadside critic, who is always not having facts to back up his claims.

“Therefore, Edema’s ‘fake certificate claim’ can be likened to accusing a dog of causing injuries with its two horns, or searching for a virgin among nursing mothers, as it affects Aiyedatiwa, ” Fasua replied.

Also in another statement, the Director-General of the LACO-FS, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, has punctured a claim by the camps of Aiyedatiwa’s opponents in the coming primary election, that the governor was deliberately excluded from the list of invitees to the commissioning of the Lagos light rail infrastructure, which was performed by President Bola Tinubu on Thursday.

The governor’s critics intoned that since other South West governors were in attendance apart from Aiyedatiwa, it meant that the President did not approve of his candidature.

But replying, Yusuf-Ogunleye said drawing such a conclusion was laughable ” because Mr. Governor was duly invited for the commissioning ceremony but he took excuse to be absent because of some pressing state assignments.”

The LACO-FS D-G also described one Adeniran Oyebade who is based in the United States and wrote a petition to President Tinubu to disqualify Aiyedatiwa, as a jester.

“Adeniran Oyebade is a jester excuse, is that how democracy is beign practised in America where he puportedly came from? That an incubent governor should be denied a right to contest an election?

“We doubt his claim of ever working in a civilised society if this statement is from such a fellow. Let him point out reasons a sitting governor should not contest for an election when the Constitution provides him the opportunity to contest.

Calling the president to go against same Constitution he swore to defend as president and leader of our party, sounds funny and Dr. Adeniran should please examine his health status,” Yusuf-Ogunleye said.
