Amotekun nabs N-Power beneficiary, one other over motorcycle theft

A 31-year-old-man identified as Ademola Kola has been arrested by the operatives of Western Nigeria Security Network Agency, otherwise called the Amotekun Corp in Osun for motorcycle theft.

Kola is said to be a notorious motorcycle thief who robs under the pretense of being mentally challenged.

The Field Commandant of Amotekun in Osun State, Amitolu Shittu, said, “Ademola was apprehended along Ila Orangun – Ikirun Road while escaping with the motorcycle that he allegedly stole from Ila town.

“The said okada was stolen at the residence of one Tunde living around Oke-Ogbun in Ila.

“The suspect claimed that he went to visit his relative at Egbeda village around Owode-Ede, Osun State (when arrested). Investigations further revealed that Ademola Kola, who always pretends to be insane while committing the act, (had committed a crime) in the past when he stole a motorcycle from Ibadan and sold it in Ila. He would again steal from Ila and ride it to Ibadan to dispose of it.

“The neighbours, who pleaded anonymity, said the suspect had been involved in stealing and robbing of houses in Ila and its environs.”

In another development, the corps apprehended a 25-year-old-man called Adetunji Adeolu, at Ogbaagba in Osun State for motorcycle theft.

Amitolu said that the suspect was arrested with one motorcycle which was allegedly stolen in Iwo and disposed of by another person.

According to him, the suspect took to his heels upon sighting Amotekun operatives but he was later arrested in Okinni, Egbedore Local Government Area of the state.

Adetunji, who claimed to be a tailor and an N-power beneficiary, however denied the allegation that he stole the motorcycle.
