A governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State, Dotun Babayemi, has said the emergence of former President Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the party has already sent jitters to the ruling All Progressives Congress and other political parties ahead of the 2023 general elections.

While reacting to Atiku’s election as PDP candidate in a statement issued by Omooba Dotun Babayemi Campaign Organization, the PDP chieftain described Atiku’s victory as a good omen for the party and Nigeria.

In its congratulatory message, Babayemi noted that the vast experience coupled with the laudable developmental programmes of the nation’s former Vice President would help to revive and rejuvenate the country back to life when voted into power.

“We congratulate our former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, for emerging as the presidential flag bearer of our great party, the PDP. With Atiku’s emergence, his cosmopolitan nature and political reach in the country must have sent jitters to our opponents. He has what it takes to reset Nigeria to its glorious past. Let’s support him,” Babayemi said.

While noting that the process that has produced him was transparent and rancour-free, Babayemi commended other contenders and the national leadership of the party for their resolve at ensuring that the party takes over the reins of power at the 2023 elections.
