APC chieftain declares interest in Ogun East Senate seat

Olusegun Olumide-Senbanjo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress has declared his intention to contest for the Ogun East Senatorial District seat in 2023.

Olumide-Senbanjo spoke at a stakeholders meeting held in Ogun State, on Wednesday.

The senatorial aspirant solicited the support of all stakeholders from the communities in the senatorial zone to actualise his ambition.

The aspirant, who is also a front-line grassroots politician and oil mogul, said he had consulted critical stakeholders in the zone prior on his intention.

According to him, his consultation also included stakeholders in his immediate federal constituency comprising Ijebu Ode, Ijebu East and Odogbolu local governments.

“I called this stakeholders meeting for us to have a deliberation regarding my desire to serve you all as a mediator between the State and Federal Government from this Senatorial Districts.

“We will be able to tender our needs before the authorities and get things work the way they should, which will ensure we complement the efforts and achievements of our Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

“I plead with the party executives to allow me to serve as Ogun East Senatorial District liaison officer, mediating between the constituents, the State and the Federal Government,” he said.

Olumide-Senbanjo said that there was a need to have a synergy between the state and federal government which would enhance the development of the Senatorial District.

Stakeholders who attended the meeting include APC chairmen and secretaries of Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu East Local Government Areas.

Also in attendance were Women and Youth Leaders and Ward Chairmen, among others.
