Officers of the 12 Field Engineering Regiment of the Nigerian Army, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, have reportedly handed over 20 suspected internet fraudsters to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan Zonal Office.
Wilson Uwujaren, spokesperson of the EFCC, said that the army handed over the suspects to the Commission in Ibadan, on Friday.
Uwujaren said that the suspects were arrested during a raid that was conducted by the Nigerian Army at Ijagun, Odogbolu area of Ogun State.
He stated that 11 vehicles, 29 phones and hard drugs were recovered from the suspects, adding that the vehicles were still in the custody of the Nigerian Army.
Uwujaren said that 19 of the 20 arrested suspects were indicted so far by the ongoing investigation.
The suspects, he said, would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
