At last, Super Falcons qualify

 

Super Falcons have qualified for the round of 16 at the ongoing Women’s World Cup in France.

Super Falcons heaved a sigh of relief as the Nigerian side finally qualified for the Round of 16 as one of the ‘four best losers” after 96-hours of wait at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The qualification into the round of 16 is the first time for Nigeria in 20 years.

Nigeria finished their in Group A with three points, behind Norway and leaders France. They also had a minus two goal difference from the three matches they played.

The Falcons qualified after Chile failed to beat Thailand as needed to qualify, only winning 2-0 in their final Group F match at the Roazhon Park in Rennes on Thursday.

The Nigerian team would now face Germany on Saturday, June 22.
