The Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s performance on the second anniversary of his administration, declaring that Nigeria is firmly on the path to progress and prosperity.

In a statement on Wednesday signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Barau praised Tinubu for laying a solid foundation to restore the nation’s past glory.

He said, “I join Nigerians and well-wishers around the world in congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the second anniversary of his administration.

“Over the last 24 months, under his visionary leadership, Nigeria has been strategically repositioned. Despite inheriting numerous challenges, the President has introduced impactful policies and programmes aimed at overcoming them.”

He highlighted strides in tackling the nation’s major issues—security and the economy—noting ongoing progress.

“The President is working tirelessly to address the insecurity challenge. Hundreds of terrorists have been neutralised, especially in the North West. Areas previously deemed unsafe are being reclaimed. Kidnappings along the Abuja-Kaduna highway have drastically reduced.

“In the South East, the once rampant attacks by unknown gunmen have diminished. Boko Haram was largely decimated, although isolated attacks persist in parts of Borno State,” he stated.

Barau expressed optimism about the future, citing the recent establishment of development commissions across the country’s six geopolitical zones, which he believes will spur nationwide development.

He also praised the administration’s expansion of access to healthcare and education through the creation of several new tertiary institutions.

Describing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as “unprecedented,” he noted that over 300,000 students have already benefitted.

He emphasized that the overwhelming support for Tinubu’s second term by APC stakeholders is a recognition of his achievements and a mandate to continue delivering on his promises.

Reaffirming the National Assembly’s support for the Renewed Hope Agenda, Senator Barau called on Nigerians to remain supportive.

“I urge all citizens to continue praying for our leaders and to give their full support to President Tinubu as he leads our nation toward peace and socio-economic transformation,” he added.
