AN Osun State Magistrate’s Court, sitting in Osogbo, on Monday, sentenced a 20-year-old ‘mechanic’, Ibrahim Kolapo, to prison for allegedly stealing aluminum flat sheets.
Police Prosecutor, ASP Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the convict committed the offence on August 23,2020 at about 11:20am at Tinumola Area, Oroki Estate, Osogbo.
Fagboyinbo alleged that the convict did unlawfully jump through the fence and entered the dwelling house of one Sola Bamidele, where he allegedly carted away two milk colour Aluminum flat sheets, valued at N240,000.
He said the offence committed was contrary to and punishable under 509 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun State 2002
The convict, who had no legal representation, pleaded guilty to the allegation preferred against him by the police.
The court found the accused guilty after the police explained the fact of the case and convicted him.
Kolapo prayed the court to temper justice with mercy.
In his ruling, Magistrate Isola Omisade sentenced the convict to 12 months imprisonment in Ilesa correctional center.
