A Federal High Court, sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Tuesday, nullified the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party that produced Ladi Adebutu as the party’s governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections.
All other primary elections that produced every other candidate in the Adebutu faction were also nullified.
Hon. Justice O.O Oguntoyinbo, during the sitting in Abeokuta on Tuesday, in his ruling, also ordered immediate conduct of fresh primaries in the state.
However, in another development, Segun Showunmi, a factional candidate of the party in Ogun State, is in court, querying the appropriateness of a biased Exco conducting the primary election in the first instance.
His case, which was given merit at the Court of Appeal may likely throw him up as the PDP governorship candidate.
