THE Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chiji Collins, has been impeached.
He was reportedly impeached over alleged financial impropriety, high handedness, and gross misconduct, and immediately replaced by Paul Emeziem from Onuimo Local Government Area of the state.
The embattled Speaker was removed from his seat on Friday during plenary at the legislative chamber of the State Assembly complex in Owerri, Imo State capital.
Nineteen out of the 27 members of the state Assembly, supported the motion for his impeachment, according to findings.
