Police on Saturday fired gunshots and water canon to disperse protesters, who had gathered for the Yoruba nation rally at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos.
It happened after the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Hakeem Odumosu, addressed journalists at the venue saying no rally is allowed in Lagos.
But some of the agitators unfurled their banners and flyers as a way of announcing their presence to the consternation of the security men.
It could not be ascertain in the melee that followed if any of the protesters were arrested by the Police.
