Buhari swears in 12 Permanent Secretaries

PRESIDENT Muhmmadu Buhari has sworn in 12 Permanent Secretaries.

The Swearing-in Ceremony, which took place at the Council Chambers, Aso Villa, Abuja, started at about 10 am, before the 13th virtual Federal Executive Council meeting commenced.

The appointment of the Permanent Secretaries had been conveyed in a statement issued in June by the Head of Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, The Point reports.

The Permanent Secretaries include Belgore Shuaib Mohammad, Kwara; Akinlade Oluwatoyin, Kogi; Ekpa Anthonia Akpabio, Cross River; Alkali Bashir Nura, Kano; Ardo Babayo Kumo, Gombe; and Anyanwutaku Adaora lfeoma, Anambra.

Others are Udoh Moniloja Omokunmi, Oyo; Hussaini Babangida, Jigawa; Mohammed Aliyu Ganda, Sokoto; Mahmuda Mamman, Yobe; Meribole Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Abia; and Tarfa Yerima Peter, Adamawa.

The Commissioner for the Federal Civil Service Commission, Idahagbon Henry; and Commissioner for Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Usman Hassan, were also sworn in on Wednesday.

Officials who witnessed the ceremony, and were also present for the FEC meeting include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari; National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; and Head of Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan.

Some ministers who attended the FEC physically were Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio; Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello; and Minister of Water Resources, Sulieman Adamu.

Other ministers joined the meeting by virtual means.
