Buhari’s Visit to Imo: IPOB Declares dusk to dawn curfew

Following the proposed visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Imo State, South East Nigeria, the self-determination group, Indigenous Peoples of Biafra declared a dusk to dawn curfew in the entire Southeastern states on September 9, 2021.

In a statement by signed by its Head of Directorate of State, Maazi Chika Edoziem, the group declared a total shutdown in the Southeast and advised natives to stock their houses with foodstuff to avoid being scapegoats on the said day.

The statement read in part, “Muhammadu Buhari having held our Leader Maazi Nnamdi Kanu in DSS Custody in Abuja is not welcomed in any part of Biafraland.”

It advised traditional rulers and stakeholders not to mobilize people in any guise to welcome President Buhari as that would be strongly resisted.

The IPOB Director averred that, “Ahead of Buhari’s planned visit to Imo State, Biafra on Thursday 9/9/21, IPOB in an emergency broadcast this evening by Maazi Chika Edoziem, the Head of Directorate of State, DOS, have Declared total shutdown in the entire southeast. Residents are to observe a dusk to dawn curfew. Stock your homes with food items so as to avoid being a scapegoat.”

Mazi Edoziem further averred that, “Muhammadu Buhari having held our Leader Maazi Nnamdi Kanu, in DSS Custody in Abuja is not welcomed in any part of Biafraland.”

He threatened that “This Thursday will be very dangerous for those who have ears but could not hear. Do not allow stray bullet to take your life. Kindly stay at your home till dawn. Preparations are underway. Details will remain private. Sorry for the traditional rulers who will organize people to welcome him in Imo State Biafranland”.
