The victim, identified as Chisom Nwankwo, a final year student of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, was on a commercial motorcycle when she and the motorcyclist were hit by a speeding bus.

The Point gathered that there was an accident on the campus and that the motorcyclist and the driver of the bus got carried away by the scene of the road mishap, a situation that led them to lose control on the wheels.

Ogbuehi said he met with student leaders of Chisom’s faculty and department and they both confirmed she was dead and that her colleagues had been thrown into mourning.

“I also met with Lordferm, the Students Union President of OAU at the Students Union Building and he narrated everything that happened to me saying, “What happened is that an accident happened and the bike man who was carrying our sister (Chisom) was looking towards where the accident happened and he lost control, the driver of the bus coming behind him was also looking at where the accident happened and immediately the bus hits the bike carrying our sister, she fell under the bus and the bus climbed her.
