THE candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Lagos East Senatorial bye-election, Tokunbo Abiru, has been declared winner.
Abiru polled 89,204 votes to defeat Babatunde Gbadamosi of the Peoples Democratic Party, who got 11,257 votes, according to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The bye-election was conducted on Saturday in the five local governments of the district amid low voter turnout.
The APC candidate won by a wide margin in all the five local government areas.
