A Senior Magistrate’s Court in Kano State has remanded one Hafsat Isa at the Kano Correctional Centre for allegedly pouring hot water on her rival, identified as Talatu Isa.

The police informed the court that Hafsat and Talatu were married to same husband, adding that the former (Hafsat) boiled and poured hot water on a fellow wife during a quarrel that broke out between them.

The prosecutor further told the court that the defendant acted in a manner that caused grievous hurt on Talatu.

Talatu, who sustained injuries on her face, was said to have been rushed to a government hospital where she received medical attention.

The police alleged that Hafsat violated the provisions of the penal code law.

Hafsat, however, denied the allegations slammed against her before the court.

Senior Magistrate Umma Sani Kurmawa refused to release the defendant on bail, but ordered that she should be remanded at the Correctional Centre.
The court adjourned the case till November 16 for mention.
