Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has tested negative for COVID-19 for the second time.
Makinde dislcosed in a tweet at about 11.21pm on Sunday evening that he had received his second negative test result.
The governor, who had tested positive for the virus about a few days ago, announced the development by himself before going into isolation.
“I am deeply moved by your prayers and support throughout this period. I am so thankful. This evening, I received my second negative test result for COVID-19. I especially thank Prof. Temitope Alonge, who acted in my stead as Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force,” he said.
The governor also said he would be resuming work on Monday.
