The Super Eagles players in the Chinese Super League are excited about the expected re-union with former teammate, Ikechukwu Uche. Information has it that IK Uche had received a summer transfer link that could make him the next Nigerian player to feature in the money spinning league of China.
Recently, ex-Eagles striker, Victor Anichebe sealed a transfer deal in the Chinese lower division and Ikechukwu has now been tipped to join fellow-Nigerian stars, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins, John Mikel Obi, Odion Jude Ighalo, Anthony Ujah and Brown Ideye in China.
The 33-year-old Uche has played most of his football in Spain for clubs like Villarreal, Zaragoza, Granada and Getafe, while a big-money move to Mexico was cut short due to the player’s injury problems at UNAL Tigres.
Last season, the nippy striker was top scorer for Gimnastic of Spain, with eight goals to help the club stay up in the Spanish second division.
“Nothing has been finalised yet, but there are talks of ‘IK’ moving to China,” the source stated.
