DEAN of Students, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, has been found dead in his office.

The Dean, identified as Dr. Shola Eshiobo, had reportedly left his house on Saturday to attend to some official matters but did not return.

He was found dead in his office on Sunday, when his wife raised the alarm that her husband did not return home and some sympathisers went with her to her husband’s office.

It was learnt that the wife of the deceased had called his mobile line many times without response and decided to alert neighbours.

On getting to the institution on Sunday morning, it was learnt that they met his car parked at the car park, but met his lifeless body in his office.

“He left his house on Saturday afternoon, saying that he was going to the office to attend to some official matters. He normally goes to the office when he has so much in his hands,” a source said.

“At about 9pm, when he was not yet back home, the wife started calling his line but there was no response and the call was not returned. Early on Sunday morning, she raised the alarm and neighbours went to the office with her. They saw his vehicle at the car park but when they got to his office, they saw him dead,” he added.

His corpse has reportedly been deposited at the mortuary.

Public Relations Officer of Auchi Polytechnic, Mustapha Oshiobugie, confirmed the incident.

“We heard about the unfortunate incident this morning (Sunday) and we quickly contacted the CSO on the development and the body has been taken to the morgue. We cannot say much for now but I believe a post motem will reveal cause of death,” he stated.
