The Delta State Police Command has arrested a female passenger for allegedly transporting arms and ammunition to an undisclosed location.
The state commissioner of police, Ari Muhammed Ali, confirmed the arrest in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.
The commissioner said the Eagle-Net Special Squad arrested the suspect, identified as Victoria Itila, during a routine stop and search duty along the Sapele-Benin Expressway in Delta State.
The Police spokesman said they intercepted a Toyota Hiace Bus with registration number: OLG 13 EFR and subjected the passengers to a search.
According to Edafe, it was during the search that the police arrested the suspect and recovered from her six locally made double barrel guns concealed in an umbrella, adding that investigations into the matter had commenced.
