Deltans hail Okowa’s transformation agenda

Deltans across the state have continued to hail the transformation agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, saying that even in the face of the dwindling economy, his administration had continued to touch the lives of the people.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru, who spoke with our correspondent in Warri, said that the massive spread of infrastructural projects being executed across the state by the Okowa administration had rubbished the muchtalked about recession in the country.

Opuoro, who was the immediate past commissioner, special duties in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, noted that road projects such as the ongoing NPA Bye-Pass, Apala Street, Esisi Road and Estate Roundabout in Warri South Local Government Area, among several others spread across the three senatorial districts in the state, made it easy for the most unrepentant critic to applaud Okowa’s strides.

When asked about the drop in Federal allocation to states, Opuoru said, “The drop in the monthly Federal allocation accruing to Delta State, coupled with its attendant decline in internally generated revenue, amid huge wage burden, emphasises the ingenuity and experience Dr. Okowa has brought to bear in governance.”
