Eagles launch ‘operation Tanzania must fall’

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are super-charged to demolish the might of visiting Tanzania in tomorrow’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Akwa Ibom International stadium in Uyo.
Under the supervision of foreign manager, Gernot Rohr, the team, led by the Rio Olympic Games bronze medallist, John Mikel Obi, has been upbeat that the match would give the Super Eagles a new face in African football.
Before now, the senior national team has been engulfed in crisis after it could not find its bearing under former coach, Sunday Oliseh and care-taker manager, Samson Siasia.
Now, the players are determined to change the fortunes of the team with tomorrow’s game in Uyo. Eagles’ skipper, Obi, is optimistic that his team would triumph against Tanzania. He said that with the calibre of players in Uyo, and the right attitude to the game, Tanzania would return home weeping.
The assistant captain, Ahmed Musa, is also confident that there would be nothing short of victory in Uyo. He said he was excited to see the full house and the way players turned up to fight for shirts, adding that it is enough motivation for the entire team.
Depending on how Coach Rohr manages the team, there is an array of young and promising players in the squad.
Apart from Mikel and Musa, other hungry stars yearning to make good impression in the team include defenders Musa Muhammed, Chidozie Awaziem, Abdullahi Shehu, Jamiu Alimi, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong and Elderson Echiejile.
The midfielders in camp are Ogenyi Onazi, Wilfred Ndidi and Nosa Igiebor, attackers include Brown Ideye, Moses Simon, Imoh Ezekiel, Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo and Victor Osimhen, while the goalkeepers are Emmanuel Daniel and Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
