BY AGNES NWORIE, ABAKALIKI

Some stakeholders and elders of Ezza Ezekuna clan in the Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress have endorsed the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Francis Nwifuru, as their preferred gubernatorial candidate ahead of 2023 general elections in the state.

They confirmed their decision recently at Okpoku Ezekuna Nchionu in Ezza South local government area of the state, where they urged Nwifuru to maintain the tempo of both human and infrastructural development already started by Governor David Umahi.

Livinus Ezeuwa had moved the motion for the adoption of all candidates of the APC from the ward level to the presidency as their preferred candidates in the 2023 general elections, especially Nwifuru as their sole candidate for the governorship seat.

The motion which was seconded by Ikeuwa Omebe was thereafter put to voice vote by Ugo Chima and was unanimously adopted by all the APC stakeholders and leaders present.

Ezeuwa expressed optimism that Nwifuru would make a good governor having worked closely with Governor Umahi

On his part, Nwifuru promised to build at least 500 bungalows for the internally displaced persons in Ebonyi State if elected as the governor of the state.

Nwifuru who called for peaceful coexistence among all, revealed that his first 100 days would be used to build 500 houses in five communities for villagers who have been displaced from their homes as a result of one crisis or the other.

According to him, the benefitting displaced communities would include Amanze and Izzo communities in Ishielu local government area, Igbeagu, Agbaja and Inyimegu communities all in Ebonyi State.

While appreciating the people of Ezza clan for the unity and peace that exist among them, he explained that he would pursue intense peace among all clans if elected as governor in 2023.

“When I become the Governor of Ebonyi State, the first one hundred days in office, Izzo community, Amanze Community, Agbaja community that is, those displaced in Centenary city, Igbeagu community and Inyimegu community, these five communities will have at least 500 bungalows,” he stated.

He appreciated the people for their show of solidarity and called on the youths to desist from drugs and be responsible citizens of the state.
