Ebonyi govt. offers university scholarship to 222 best applicants nationwide

The Ebonyi State Government has announced that it would offer admission to 222 students across Nigeria into King David University of Medical Sciences, Uburu.

Prof. Jesse Uneke, acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, and the Secretary to the State Government, Kenneth Ugbala, said in a statement made available to journalists that the one year scholarship would, however, not cover feeding.

Submission of application for scholarship, it stated, would end on January 23.

It read that the “Ebonyi State Government, through King David University of Medical Sciences, offers one year scholarship to 222 students from the 36 states of Nigeria and FCT into various medical courses.

“Ebonyi State Government has established The King David University of Medical Sciences (a.k.a David Nweze Umahi University of Medical Sciences) Uburu, Ebonyi State, a world class University, with Teaching Hospital/Medical Centres of Excellence.

“To ensure that the institution takes off with the best of Nigerians and in the spirit of a united Nigeria, Ebonyi State Government is offering a one year scholarship to best candidates per state in the 36 states and FCT in the following medical courses.

“Courses and Amount of fees
payable per year. Pharmacy (Pharm D) N2.5million, Nursing (BNS.) N2million, Medical Laboratory Science (MLS.) N2million, Biomedical Engineering (B.Eng.) N2million, Radiography and Radiation Sciences (B.Sc.) N2million and Optometry (OD) N2million.

“The above fees, excluding feeding, will be paid for the successful candidates for one year by the Ebonyi State Government. Ebonyi State Government has already offered 14 of her best indigenous students scholarship for six years to study Medicine and Surgery in this institution, even though Ebonyi State is not excluded in this new scholarship programme to the 36 states and FCT.”
