Ebonyi lawmakers pass motion on direct labour projects

The Ebonyi State House of Assembly has passed a motion for the construction of a 5km concrete road each across the 13 local government council areas of the state.

The representative of Izzi East constituency in the Assembly, Anthony Nwegede, who moved the motion, stated that the proposed 5km concrete roads should be executed through direct labour.

Nwegede, Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and EBSIEC Matters, stated that the direct labour project execution would ensure speedy and quality delivery.

Seconding the motion, the Leader of the House, representing Ezza North West constituency, Victor Chukwu, urged his colleagues to support the motion considering its advantages.

The motion, which was put to vote by the Speaker, Francis Nwifuru, was unanimously approved the lawmakers.

The House also confirmed members of the Ebonyi State Secondary Education Board and the Ebonyi State Revenue Appeal Commission, nominated by Governor David Umahi, after being screened.
