EFCC declares ex-minister, Agunloye, one other wanted for alleged fraud

A former Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye, has been declared wanted by the Enonomic and Financial Crimes Commission over an alleged case of corruption and forgery.

This was disclosed in a post on X by the EFCC on Wednesday morning.

It read, “The public is hereby notified that Olu Agunloye, whose photograph appears above is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in alleged case of corruption and forgery.

“Olu, 75, is from Akoko North Local Government Area of Ondo State.”

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had accused Agunloye of mismanaging the power project during his tenure from 1999 to 2003, and that the EFCC in September quizzed Agunloye over an alleged $6 billion Build, Operate and Transfer contract.

In a separate post, the EFCC also declared wanted one Iluyomade Tolulope Akinwale, 39, in an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.

The respective posts further urged anyone with useful information as to their whereabouts to contact the EFCC or the nearest police station.

It read, “Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Benin, Kaduna, Ibadan, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Markurdi, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Uyo, Port Harcourt, and Abuja offices or through this number +2348093322644; its e-mail address: info@efcc.gov.ng or the nearest police station and any other security agencies.”
