Ejidike, Kida, others back Eagles to lift AFCON trophy

Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Donatus Agu-Ejidike, and other prominent Nigerians like President of Nigeria Basketball Federation, Musa Kida, have given their support for the Super Eagles to triumph at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Ejidike in his goodwill message encouraged the team to soar high and bring back the trophy to Nigeria.

He noted that with the government’s support and prayers of every Nigerian, the team would make the country proud.

NBBF boss, Kida also urged Eagles to triumph at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon reiterating his age-long belief that Nigeria is blessed with youthful and abundant talents that can rule the world of sports.

Kida, who started his sports career as a goalkeeper in his early days, is enthused that the Eagles are good enough to win the cup in Cameroon.

Kida praised the government for the support the team has so far received, going into the championship.

He gleefully added that basketball would continue to give football a run for its money, in view of its recent continental achievements.

Also in his message, foremost grassroots football philanthropist, Michael Ubogu, expressed confidence in the abilities of the team, as well as, the experience of the interim coach, Austin Eguavoen, to make Nigeria proud during the championship.

Nigeria, who placed third at the AFCON 2019 held in Egypt, is set to begin its challenge for the cup on Tuesday, January 11, against Egypt.
