Ejidike makes case for Imo youths

Nigeria’s pillar of sports, Donatus Agu Ejidike, has called on the Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma, to use sporting activities to keep the youths busy in order to checkmate the high rate of insecurity in the State.

Ejidike made the call while hosting the Imo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Chike Ogu, in his office in Ilorin.

Ejidike, stated that empowerment through sports remains the best way to engage the youths positively by curbing criminality and restiveness among them.

He further revealed that the office of the Nigerian pillar of sports has initiated a campaign tagged “Engage the youth through Sports” which is aimed at taking the youths off the streets through positive engagement in sports.

Ejidike further assured that his office was always ready to collaborate with the government of Imo State to stage sporting events aimed at keeping the youths positively engaged.

Responding, Ogu assured Ejidike that Imo State government are ready to partner with his office, individuals and corporate organisations to ensure positive development and growth of sports and youth empowerment in the
state.
