Ejidike vows to use sports to curb insecurity

Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Donatus Agu Ejidike, has vowed to use sports to help curb insecurity in Kwara State.

Ejidike stated this in Ilorin when he paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Emiembo Tuesday Assayomo, and commended him for putting in place effective measures towards curtailing insecurity in the state.

He said the police in Kwara State have maintained high level of commitment and discipline in sustaining the peaceful nature of the state which gave it the acronym ‘State of harmony’.

The Pillar of Sports assured the Commissioner of Police of the readiness of his office to partner with the police to engage the youths meaningfully through sports.

Responding, the Commissioner of Police thanked the Pillar of Sports and his entourage for the visit even as he solicited for continuous vital information that will help the police to discharge its duties effectively.

He said sports remain a vital tool to officers and men of the force as it keeps them physically and psychologically fit to discharge their duties hence the need for collaboration.

Highlights of the visit included presentation of sports kits to the Commissioner of Police by Ejidike.
