Ekiti: Nobody can rig APC primary, say Ojo, Bamisile

Two governorship contestants of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, have allayed fears that the coming primary election of the party will be rigged.

One of the aspirants, Engnr. Segun Ojo, told our correspondent in Ado-Ekiti that ,“the APC primary cannot be rigged because there are laid down rules guiding it, which make it difficult for rigging to take place.”

He said, “Apart from the fact that the delegates will file out and vote for candidates of their choice, those who will conduct it are coming from another state and are not likely to know anyone among the contestants.”

Ojo added that the delegates, from his interactions with them, are people of impeccable characters and would never trade off their conscience for anything.

He challenged the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to “start packing their luggage to go, as a robust administration that will industrialise Ekiti and transform the lives of the common people is about to be
enthroned.”

Speaking too, another APC governorship aspirant, Mr. Olufemi Bamisile, assured that the primary election of the party would not be rigged in favour of any aspirant.

Bamisile, who is a former speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, noted that he already had to his side, about 1,500 delegates, expected to vote at the primary election.

Bamisile made the remarks while hosting delegates and party members from all the 16 local government areas of the state, to an Easter get-together at his residence in GRA, Ado-Ekiti.

The former Speaker said nobody could buy delegates at the primary election, noting that the shadow election represents an opportunity for the APC to regain the governorship seat lost in the 2014 election.

He said: “You and I will get to the Promised Land together: nobody can buy delegates at the primary, because they are determined to elect the right candidate this
