A staff of the Abuja Electric Distribution Company, Yusuf Ibrahim Kasimu, has been brutally murdered in the Tudun Kauri area of Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Following his death, tension has gripped the area.
Kasimu, 37, is reported to have been killed by suspected assassins.
He was killed near the Independent National Electoral Commission office, close to the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service premises, sending shockwaves throughout the community.
Eyewitnesses said that the deceased was found face-down in a pool of his own blood with severe head injuries.
Sources suggest that he may have been clubbed to death by individuals he wanted to assist, who allegedly assaulted him and fled with his motorcycle.
Kasimu’s identity remained unknown until his relatives arrived at the scene and confirmed it was him.
Speaking to reporters, his uncle, Umaru Kasimu, condemned the killing and urged security agencies to act swiftly in tracking down the killers.
