Enyeama’s Lille in trouble

It is no longer business as usual for Lille of France and former Nigeria number one goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama. Enyeama and his club are struggling to swim out of the relegation zone of the French Lique 1 this season, after playing 16 matches with just five victories to their credit.

Lille is in 14th position on the table led by Monaco with 38 points. Nice is occupying the second spot with 35 points and Paris Saint Germain in third position. Lille officials are in disarray, as they are currently looking for a way out of the turbulent waters. The club technical officials are not even talking about how to hire fresh blood to beef up the deficiency of their midfield and defence to protect Enyeama’s lapses.

Record has reflected that the former Super Eagles’ goalkeeper had conceded 21 goals already against the 15 credited to the club this season. Lille is just floating on 17th position, after losing nine games, and drew two in the keenly contested league. Although, Enyeama is enjoying regular shirt with Lille, but the poor standing of the club may not encourage his future recall to the national team.
